What if I am unsure about my emission targets?

Setting targets can seem complex at first, especially when you are just starting. However, setting targets for GHG reductions is an important measure in responding to the need for a sustainable transition. Targets help organizations manage change in a systematic, controlled, and organized way.

A greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction target is a commitment to reduce your emissions in a future year compared to a baseline year. If you have not yet set a target, we suggest beginning by identifying your baseline year, which serves as the reference point. From there, you can enter an estimated reduction target based on that year. This estimate does not need to be exact, and you can refine it over time as more information becomes available.
